Do you ever have those days as a mom where you try to be super human and conquer the impossible task of doing it a?!? Well let me tell you I did today and I had an amazing thing happen to me. I feel like I need to share it.
So I do often try to do way to much in a day. Each task taken separately seems do able. Its when I put them all together it is impossible!
I had two board meeting today. One at our Elementary school where I am currently the PTA president and the other at my work where I am the VP of marketing. When left to go to work today I was low on gas. The light had just gone on and I new I could make it to work. Then I left late to get to my PTA meeting so I chanced it and went straight to the meeting. The meeting went a little long and I needed to help people with different questions. When I was done I was running super late!
So I headed back to work, started returning missed calls and forgot all about the gas! I did not remember until I was on High Way 89 and my car started to slow down!!! Oh NO!!!! I forgot to get gas. I tried to coast to the nearest gas station and was about a 1/2 mile away when I stopped in the middle of the High Way. I flipped on my emergency lights and jumped out of my car and started running to the gas station.
Well a police officer saw me and was concerned. He thought I may possibly be running from someone. He pulled over and I explained what had happened. He then took me to the gas station. Helped me fill up a gas can. Then he took me back to my car and put the gas in my tank. ( see picture )
I know that doesn't seem like allot but allot of people passed me on the High way and they didn't stop. I have ran out of gas once before and the police that pulled over told me to call someone and left. This man took time to help me and make sure I could go on my way. It made me less late to my meeting and I was humbled by the kindness.
That is what life is about! It's about helping people!!! My faith in good Samaritan's is restored! I am grateful this Thanksgiving season to see some good in the world around me instead of all the bad. Police officers that not only serve and protect but help out the one! I am going to pay it forward. I would love for you to do it too!
