Hill Air Force Commander to Speaks at Memorial Program

Kaysville Parks & Recreation, American Legion Post #27 and Lindquist Mortuaries welcome and honor veterans on this special day of remembrance. This year's keynote speaker is Colonel David B. Lyons who is the Commander of the 388th Fighter Wing of Hill Air Force Base in Utah. Colonel Lyons is responsible for the readiness, training, morale, and welfare of more than 1,500 personnel assigned to the wing. He is also responsible for the operational oversight and direction of nearly 450 Reserve maintainers and operators in the 419th Fighter Wing.
 
Colonel Lyons entered the Air Force in 1992, attended Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training and held various operational F-16 and A-10 flying positions. He holds advanced degrees from George Washington University, Air Command and Staff College, the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He has multiple combat deployments to Operations Southern Watch, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. He is a command pilot with more than 2,100 flying hours including 397 combat flying hours.
 
The Memorial Day program will also include the Davis High drum line, Honor Guard and Rifle Team from the American Legion Farmington Post 27. Flags will be placed on Veterans' graves by American Legion and Boy Scouts of America. Bring a lawn chair.
