Wild Wednesdays: Red, White and Blue: A Special Independence Day Program

Join us for a special Independence Day program.  Learn about Bald Eagles and why they are our national symbol. Meet the Ogden Nature Center’s own Bald Eagle, Des Ta Te.  Then go outside and search for things in nature that are RED, WHITE and BLUE.  You’ll be amazed at what you can find!  Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Buzz on over to the Ogden Nature Center to learn all about Utah’s bees. Over 900 species of bees call Utah home. Find out what makes bees so special and why we need them buzzing around. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Learn about predator prey relationships with the help of one of the Ogden Nature Center’s bird predators and its prey.  Get an up-close look at live animals, skulls, pelts, teeth, and more while learning about the traits that help animals survive in the wild. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Free R.A.M.P. Summer Saturdays

The Ogden Nature Center is offering free admission and activities on Saturdays during the summer.  Activities led by a teacher naturalist will be held at 10 am and at 2 pm every Saturday. Activities will include guided nature walks, live animal presentations, games, creative nature crafts and more. Just show up and have fun! Please check in at the Visitor Center front desk.

Free Summer Saturday activities in July – programs at 10 am and 2 pm:
 
July 2 – Terrific Tortoises – Learn the differences between tortoises and turtles.  Meet one of the Ogden Nature Center’s own tortoises and enjoy a silly tortoise craft.
 
July 9 – Nature Walk Bracelets – Join a naturalist and gather items from nature and create a bracelet to remember your experience.
 
July 16 – Rock Nature Paperweights – Make a lovely gift for someone or a keepsake for yourself from pressed flowers and leaves.
 
July 23 – Leaf Creatures – These silly leaf people are sure to be a hit! Enjoy some time outdoors collecting different leaves and turn them into silly creatures.
 
July 30 – Outdoor Scavenger Hunt – Explore the Ogden Nature Center trails while locating nature finds during a fun, age-appropriate scavenger hunt.
