August 30, 2012
Across Davis County schools are finding a new, easy and fun way to raise much needed money.  Perhaps you have seen the Kona Shaved Ice Entertainment vehicle driving through your neighborhood but did you know they raise money for schools and other organizations?

“Our goals this year is to give back over $20,000 dollars to the local community” said Kathy Gift owner of Kona Ice of Davis County. Since the first Kona was opened in 2007 the Kona ice franchises across the country have given back over $4 MILLION to local communities in 40+ states.

There are two easy ways to raise money with Kona Ice:

1.    Percentage of sales:  Book them at your school, your games, car washes, any school event where there is a crowd and Kona will give back a portion of every Kona sole.

2.    Prepaid Cards:  Have your school raise funds in a hurry by selling Kona Pre Paid Cards. Then schedule regular visits so the cards can be redeemed.

“It is a fun and rewarding job. We show up and in our amazing Kona Entertainment Vehicle and quickly serve the kids a coup of fine shaved ice and then let the kids visit the flavor waves to make their own wild flavor creations.  Teachers and staff always receive complimentary Kona’s,” said Kathy.

“We love to visit schools and so far every school we have visited has called us back and that is a great sign that it is working for them,” Said Kathy.

Kona is an approved fundraising vendor of the Davis County School District. They provide all the marketing materials for the school.  “All they really need to do is tell us where to park and who to make the check out to”, said Kathy.
