Wild Wednesdays: Snarl, Growl, Howl: Foxes and their bigger cousins
Wednesday, September 3, 3:45 pm

All ages welcome
Join an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist and investigate the secret lives of the canids (dog family). Learn about foxes, coyotes, and wolves through stories, pelts, skulls and tracks. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
The Ogden Nature Center’s 29th Annual Wildwoods BASH  (full press release to follow)
Friday, September 5 at 5 pm
Tickets are $60 per person, with sponsorship tables available.  
The public is invited to come out and show their support for nature education in our community, while enjoying a fun evening outdoors.  The event includes a gourmet dinner prepared by some of Ogden’s favorite foodies, live music by The Blue Sage Band and an auction of outdoor gear, experiences, art and gifts – all inspired by nature. This fun, casual party is held in Ogden Nature Center’s backyard glen.  More information and tickets are available at

Wild Wednesdays: Seed Adventures
Wednesday, September 10, 3:45 pm
Free for ONC members
$2 children / $3 seniors / $4 adults
From hitchhiking on our shoes, being carried in the bellies of animals, and soaring through the wind, seeds go through quite an adventure to find new areas to grow. Explore the unseen, wild world of seeds as we play dispersal games and watch seeds move out in the wild.
 
Music Together Workshop
Saturdays: Sept 13 - Oct 18 at 2 pm
Single Child Rate: $15/class
Family Rate: $23/class
Children must be accompanied by an adult.  There is no charge for adults to attend.
Mixed-age class: newborn – five years 
(maximum registration: 12 families)
Music Together is a family-centered music program for children ages newborn to five.  In class we sing, dance, laugh, play, and create musical memories that last a lifetime.  During a typical class, participants share songs, instrument play, chants and movement activities in a play-based setting.  For more information visit www.wasatchmusictogether.com.  Instructor Melissa Zuckerman is a children’s librarian, early literacy specialist and certified Music Together teacher with 20 years in the field of early child education. 
 
Wild Wednesdays: Nature’s Natural Timekeepers

Did you know that trees are some of nature’s best timekeepers? Take a short hike with one of the Ogden Nature Center’s teacher/naturalists and practice your leaf-peeping skills as you discover how and why leaves change color.  Then create your own stained-glass craft using real leaves.  Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Scout Saturdays
Saturday, September 20
9 am – Native vs. Invasive
10 am – Conservation
11 am – Venomous Reptiles
$5 per scout
The Ogden Nature Center provides the perfect outdoor classroom for scout activities.  Have our teacher/naturalists help your scout pass off badge requirements during these 45 minute classes.  Reservations and a non-refundable deposit are required.  For more information on the requirements for each badge refer to our website atwww.ogdennaturecenter.org/education/scouting-programs.
 
Wild Wednesdays: Animal Hoarders

Scavenge, save, store! Unlike humans, animals can’t run to the supermarket to fulfill their basic needs. Take part in a journey around the Ogden Nature Center to unearth the ways animals adapt to ensure survival through winter. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Preschool Discovery Days:  Things with Wings
Choose a date and time: 
Thursday, September 25 or Friday, September 26 
9:30 am11 am or 1 pm
$5-members / $6-nonmembers
$5 per child for preschool groups over 5
Learn that bats, birds and even seeds that fly as you explore nature’s winged wonders.  Net insects; enjoy high-flying songs, stories, games and a craft as you learn through hands-on discovery about things with wings.  Pre-registration is required for all participants. Shake, Rattle & Rot 
Saturday, September 27 at 9 am 
Ages 12+ (under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult)
Cost: $25- nonmembers/$20-members
Kick-start your compost adventure! Join Bree Hanson, Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist as we explore the how, what and why of the different types of 
composting. All supplies will be provided and participants will leave with a full functioning worm bin (worms included). Space is limited and reservations are required. Please RSVP by 4 pm Tuesday, September 23 to 801-621-7595
 
Kundalini Yoga for Fall – 8 week session
Mondays, September 29 – November 176:30 – 7:45 pm
Ages: Adults
Cost: $50/nonmembers; $45/members
This Kundalini Yoga class is ideal for beginner/intermediate and for those who want to experience kundalini yoga and meditation. Bring your own yoga mat and blanket. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and we recommend not eating for at least one hour before class. Taught by a certified instructor. Please pre-register by calling 801-621-7595
