Wild Wednesdays: Oh Deer!
Wednesday, November 5, 3:45 pm
Free for ONC members
$2 children / $3 seniors / $4 adults
All ages welcome
Large ears that never stop moving….  Antlers that grow back every year….  The ability to run at speeds over 45 miles per hour! What is it?  Mule Deer!  Come learn about one of our favorite and most fascinating mammals that call Utah and the Ogden Nature Center home.  Join an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist as we search for live deer, and play a fun and educational game all about this antlered animal. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
ONC By Moonlight

Cost: $3 members / $5 nonmembers
Have you ever wondered what goes on at the Ogden Nature Center at night? Join Bree Hanson, Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist, for a 1.5 mile hike around the trails using only the light of the full moon to guide your way. Come experience the Nature Center in a way you’ve never seen before. Dress for weather. Space is limited and reservations are required. Please RSVP to 801-621-7595 by Wednesday, November 5.
 
Wild Wednesdays: In Honor: A Special Veteran’s Day Program

Free for ONC members / Free for veterans and military
$2 children / $3 seniors / $4 adults
All ages welcome
Come discuss the history of this special holiday and meet the Ogden Nature Center’s resident Bald Eagle, Des Ta Te, as we honor our veterans.  A special flag ceremony will be presented by Girl Scouts.  Free admission for veterans and current military members and their families. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Scout Saturdays
Saturday, November 15
9 am – Native vs. Invasive
10 am – Conservation
11 am – Venomous Reptiles
$5 per scout
The Ogden Nature Center provides the perfect outdoor classroom for scout activities. Have our teacher/naturalists help your scout pass off badge requirements during these 45 minute classes. Reservations and a non-refundable deposit are required.  For more information on the requirements for each badge refer to our website at www.ogdennaturecenter.org/education/scouting-programs.

Nature’s Paint: A Look into Indigenous Art
Saturday, November 15 from 10:30 – 11:30 am
Ages 5 and up 
(under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult)
Cost: $5 members / $7 nonmembers
Explore the materials and methods some indigenous peoples used to depict their landscapes, from rock paintings to pottery images to aboriginal dot art. Participants will create their own personal landscape picture with sand. Space is limited. RSVP to 801-621-7595 by 4 pm on Friday, Nov. 14.

Join the Ogden Nature Center education team for tales and demonstrations of plant and animal uses by indigenous cultures. Step back in time as you step into a real-life tipi. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Preschool Discovery Days:  Motionless Marvels

$5 members / $6 nonmembers
$5 per child for preschool groups of 5 or more children. 
From towering trees to tiny rocks, many of nature’s 
wonders hardly move at all.  Sing songs and hear stories, play games and learn through hands-on discovery what makes nature so marvelous.  Pre-registration is required for all participants.  Please call 801-621-7595 for

Are you a natural gobbler?  Test your gobbling skills against the Nature Center’s resident turkey, Tom. The more you learn about these unique birds the faster you’ll discover there is more to a turkey than meets the palate. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
