Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point

April 12, 2017
Great news! The 2017 Tulip Festival is coming a week earlier than expected. Thanks to Mother Nature’s recent warm spell many of the tulips are ready to bloom soon! The original open date for the Tulip Festival was April 14, but is now April 7. The extra week of the Festival means more time to come and enjoy the 280,000 tulips and thousands of other spring flowers across the Ashton Gardens.

As the weather turns warmer the tulips at the Ashton Gardens begin to bloom! 2017 marks the 13th annual Tulip Festival and we want you to experience it. Come enjoy 280,000 tulips in hundreds of varieties, all imported directly from Holland. The 15 themed gardens throughout Ashton Gardens highlight different displays sure to bring out plenty of oohs and aahs! This is one festival you’ll want to have a camera handy for sure.

New in 2017 will be the chance for guests to come and cut their own tulips from a special area. You’ll need to check in at the Ashton Garden Greenhouse to get special pruning sheers and pay before cutting. *Please do not cut any tulips from other areas in the Gardens.

While there’s plenty of new experiences this year, you can also expect some of the popular treats back from previous years including the Tulip Festival Race Series on April 29, the Lyceum Philharmonic concert, and the Swing Dance. The races feature a half marathon, 5K, and Kid’s mile race so there’s something for everyone in the family. Visit HERE to register and get details on race start times and other activities that day. May 6 closes out the Tulip Festival with a stunning concert from the Lyceum Philharmonic at the Ashton Gardens’ Waterfall Amphitheater. Circle your calendar now for the popular Swing Dance, also in the Waterfall Amphitheater on April 28. The Utah Swing Orchestra will set the stage on fire for this annual dance. All are welcome!

The Tulip Festival and many of these activities are included with admission or free for Thanksgiving Point members. To learn about the benefits of a Thanksgiving Point membership, please visit our member benefits page.
