PBS KIDS Utah 29th Annual Reading Marathon

October 26, 2021

Be a reading superhero! The PBS KIDS Utah 29th Annual Reading Marathon starts on Monday, November 1. Even though PBS Utah isn’t celebrating with a kick-off event this year, the station is still encouraging kids, preschool through sixth grade, to participate! Reading can provide a much-needed escape for your kids and it’s more important than ever to keep kids engaged and learning.

The Reading Marathon encourages children to read 20 minutes every day or 600 minutes total, from November 1 to 30 and to record their minutes on a reading log that is available to download online. Children can also count the minutes that someone reads to them. So, it's a good time to read together as a family too.

Kids who complete the Reading Marathon and submit their minutes will receive a PBS KIDS Utah Adventure Pass, with tickets to their favorite museums, zoos, and activities around town, as well as prizes from partnering community organizations. Reading logs must be submitted by December 15. Click the reading log below to download your reading log in English or Spanish!

This year’s Adventure Pass partners are Clark Planetarium, Discovery Gateway, Hogle Zoo, Intermountain Therapy Animals, Natural History Museum of Utah, Ogden Nature Center, Red Butte Garden, The City Library, Tracy Aviary, and Utah Museum of Contemporary Art.

Reading Logs are available to download at pbsutah.org/reading. Print out a reading log and get started reading with your superheroes!
