Meet at the Buffalo Point Overlook parking lot at 7 pm to experience one of Great Salt Lake’s breathtaking sunsets from the top of Buffalo Point, a ½-mile hike with about 600 feet elevation gain. We will talk about what lives in this desert habitat.

Friday, May 24 - Full Moon Hike: Buffalo Point

One of the most magical sights is watching the sunset followed by a rising full moon. Join the Park Naturalist at 8 pm at the Buffalo Point Parking Overlook for a ½ mile hike to the top of Buffalo Point to watch the sunset and the moon rise. We will discuss aspects of both the sun and the moon as we witness these breathtaking sights.

DATC Boy Scouts PowWow

DATC and the Boy Scouts Trappers Trails Council are giving your scout troops, teams and crews an opportunity to earn up to three merit badges in just two days at the DATC PowWow. 

The PowWow offers Scoutmasters: 18 merit badges (see below), three meals, Scoutmaster Training, restrooms, vending machines and an overnight campout. Merit Badges include: Automotive, Computers, Composites, Cooking, Dentistry, Electricity, Electronics, Energy, Entrepreneurship, First Aid, Geocaching, Graphic Arts, Medicine, Photography, Plumbing, Robotics and Welding.

Layton City Police Department will be offering a child safety/empowerment course known as radKIDS. At this time, this program is FREE to students, and taught by Layton Police Officers.
