The Rockwell Long Drive Golf Championship Weekend

In its fourth year of existence the Rockwell Long Drive Championship Weekend showcases the talents of some of the longest golfers in the world as well as raises funds for great causes at Lakeside Golf Course in West Bountiful, UT.  The weekend activities kickoff Friday morning with a charity pro‐am golf tournament where each threesome will be joined by a long drive golf professional.

Come experience what it’s like to play a round of golf with these amazing athletes, they just might share a few of their long drive secrets.   

Friday afternoon and evening the Lakeside GC’s driving range will host a golf clinic with a focus on improving your driving distance, the clinic is free and open to the public.  Immediately following the clinic local high school talents will be on display in the preliminary rounds of the High School Long Drive Challenge.  Saturday morning and progressing through the afternoon golf balls will be launched 400 + yards as the elite field of competitors battle it out for a position in the evening finals.   

As the sun begins to set and the community gathers to support a great cause delicious food, fast cars and long hitting golfers will be the delight of the evening.  Local area restaurants will offer samples of their food in an effort to raise funds for the fight against type 1 diabetes in our Taste of the Town contest.  Those in attendance will be witness to some sweet rides as local car enthusiasts bring their classics and hot rods to showcase.  And if cool cars and great food isn’t enough for you the long drive finals for both the High School and Professionals will ignite the evening as two new champions will be crowned and awarded their coveted Rockwell Championship Watch.

Along with hosting a great community event our goal is to raise $15,000 to support JDRF in the fight against Type 1 diabetes.  Please, come show your support of community and JDRF and help surpass our $15,000 goal.
